Draco stood aside Pansy's bed; watching her cry, second after painful second.

"Pansy. Why has your dad been treating you like this? Why didn't you tell him to stop?"

"I was scared...his troubles with the Dark Lord...he's taking it out on me–"

"Father's not very different, I get hit too, but you...the bruises on your legs..."

"Can I stay at your place? Please?" Pansy was begging - tears sinking into his clothing; hands tugging his sleeves.

"Okay, come on," he embraced her. 'Let's go."

"What if he wakes up?"

"I’ll be there. I won’t let him do anything."
